blue springs and fort wilderness

We just got back from a five day camping vacation with the Blunts to Blue Springs and Disney's Fort Wilderness. We had such a great time and wish we could've stayed longer. Here's just a few pics of our experience.

One of many bike rides this past week

Getting in Blue Springs for the first time

Whit, Mackenzie and Brendan getting used to the cold water.

Rebecca gently prodding JJ into the water. Okay, maybe more like throwing him in...

Mackenzie decided to be brave and take the plunge!

Now Brendan...

This is the closest you'll see me to the water. I don't like to feel like an ice cube when I'm swimming :)

Donathan doing an illegal dive

Kylie wasn't too sure about this

Donathan, Kylie and I rowed the sabot over to the swimming entrance and then Donathan took the kiddos for a ride to the head of the springs.

The kids attempted to fish, but there were no bites

A before-bedtime viewing of Cinderella-Kylie's favorite movie these days.

The toddler waterslide at Fort Wilderness. Once she got used to it, she loved it!

big girl

Well, our baby is 21 months old and has graduated to a big girl bed! Our other kids climbed out of their cribs at this age and she was pretty close to it. Since her crib was on a tile floor, we decided to move her before she fell on her head. So she and Mackenzie now share a room. We didn't want to spend a fortune on a toddler bed, so Daddy used his scrap wood and made her this:

I can hardly believe she's old enough for this! A quick little update on Kylie: Oh, where to begin...This girl is full of personality. Has the same stubborn streak as her sister. (I apologize to Donathan all the time for the gene that I passed on to them.) She is talking up a storm, dances around, loves to look at books and, unfortunately, really likes to watch videos. She is such a cuddlebug and loves playing with her brother and sister. And she's a little spiderman-scales everything in this house, including standing on the windowsill in her bedroom when she's supposed to be napping. By far, she is the pickiest eater I've ever encountered, including my younger self. And the temper tantrums...well, I won't even go into that. But overall, she just makes us laugh and smile and we're so thankful for her!
